Can I use DOUXO® S3 SEB Shampoo or DOUXO® S3 CALM Shampoo for long term maintenance?

Yes, they can be used safely in the long term. Both products contain active ingredients which help protecting the skin barrier ecosystem and maintain skin balance. For an irritated and sensitive skin, we recommend DOUXO® S3 CALM, and for a oily or flaky skin we recommend DOUXO® S3 SEB. 

Is it safe to apply on puppies and kittens?  

Puppies and kittens become hypothermic quickly. Use appropriate quantity of shampoo/mousse. Keep the animal warm at all times making sure they are completely dry. For further advice on the product, please consult your local veterinarian.

What happens if I get the product in my pets eyes?

As with most of the shampoos including human shampoos can be irritant for the eyes. DOUXO® S3 PYO products contain chlorhexidine, that can be caustic for the eyes. Avoid any contact with the eyes. Other mousses had been tested and not recognised as irritant. Nonetheless, avoid contact with ocular mucosa.In case of contact with the eyes: rinse immediately with plenty of water. Please seek advice from your veterinarian and show him the bottle. 

Why would I put an irritant on already itchy & irritated skin?

DOUXO® S3 CALM shampoo is only irritant for the eyes like human shampoos actually. DOUXO® S3 CALM mousse is not irritant for the eyes nor the skin. Our safety on itchy and irritated skin has been proven in our safety and clinical studies. DOUXO® S3 CALM shampoo is only irritant for the eyes like human shampoos actually. What is the shelf life of the DOUXO® and DOUXO® S3 products after opening?

DOUXO® S3 Pads will stay wet for 3 months after opening. DOUXO® S3 shampoo and mousse shelf life is 2 years.

Is it contraindicated with any other medicines?

No, there is no contraindication with other medications, whether topical, oral or injectable.

Should a person wear gloves to apply? 

It is not necessary to wear gloves to apply DOUXO® S3 products. Wash hands is recommended after using shampoos and mousses to remove remaining product as you do it for any other vet product. If you are hypersensitive to one of the ingredients or to any of the excipients, do not use the products.

Are all products intended for animals subject to the same regulation?

There are 2 types : drugs and others. Drugs = no signs. Others = yes, all have signs, excepted complementary feed (feed & food) which has their own regulation.

Hazardous signs appear on some labels. Is it safe to put on my pet?

Those signs are a warning for irritation in eyes and impact on the environment for people who don’t bath their pet in a bathtub. 

All the ingredients were carefully selected for their high tolerance on both human and pet skin. Ophytrium, our governing ingredient was tested on in vitro canine and human skin models and directly on human skin, with an excellent tolerance. All final formulas had their tolerance validated to guarantee a high level of safety.  In addition, those products have been tested in many clinical studies involving hundreds of pets that needed the products and tolerance was excellent.

What is the base of DOUXO® S3 Mousse? 

The base of DOUXO® S3 Mousse is a micellar solution that contain Ophytrium and foaming ingredients but what creates the foam is the special pump delivery system. There is no gaz in the bottle so the delivery is silent and doesn’t afraid your pet. That’s why he will love it.

Does the formula contain alcohol?

No, there is no alcohol in any of DOUXO® S3 products, avoiding any skin irriration by this ingredient. 

Will it make an animal greasy?

No, DOUXO® S3 Mousse will not make the animal greasy. Even if itis over-applied, DOUXO® S3 Mousse will dry. DOUXO® S3 Mousse contains cosmetic ingredients to let the coat shiny and without any residue. As the massage can untangle the hair, we recommend to brush your pet’s coat once the mousse has dried.

If a cat licks, it is it poisonous?

DOUXO® S3 CALM and SEB Mousse do not contain any ingredient that may be harmful if swallowed. However, it is recommended to prevent the animal from licking or grooming just after application to allow time for the product to dry. Otherwise the Mousse will be eliminated and will not act. DOUXO® S3 PYO Mousse contains chlorhexidine that can be irritant for oral mucosa when the cat licks the product or grooms. We don't recommend the use in cats. To occupy your pet you can walk, play with him or feed him after application. 

Is it safe to apply on pregnant or nursing animals?

DOUXO® S3 Mousse do not contain any ingredient that is contraindicated in pregnant or nursing animals. However, we have not achieved any safety study in pregnant or lactating female, nor nursing animals. 

Can you apply more than recommended amount of product?

Yes, there is no toxicity. All our products were tested with a quantity of product doubled compared with the recommended one with a perfect tolerance. Over applying will result in a very wet and sometimes matted hair (for long hair). It won’t be more profitable for your pet’s coat so we recommend you to follow the instructions. What will be more profitable will be to repeat the applications every 2-3 days.

Can DOUXO® S3 Mousse be used on cats?

Yes, DOUXO® S3 CALM and SEB Mousse can be used in cats as they do not contain any ingredient harmful if swallowed. DOUXO® S3 PYO Mousse contains chlorhexidine that can be irritant for oral mucosa when the cat licks the product or grooms. We don't recommend the use in cats. The pump makes no noise and the product is pleasant to apply since it is massaged through the hair. DOUXO® S3 Mousse is a very-well adaptated alternative to shampoos which can be a nightmare in cats.

Can I use DOUXO® S3 Mousse in small areas?

Yes, DOUXO® S3 Mousse formulations are very convenient for localized areas where application may be difficult. Your finger can easily apply it between the toes and pads. The product can also be used on the whole body if needed. If you want to apply on small areas only, we recommend to use DOUXO® S3 CALM Pads or DOUXO® S3 PYO Pads depending on the skin issue.

Does DOUXO® S3 Mousse leave a residue? Do I have to bathe or rinse my dog after? 

DOUXO® S3 Mousse leaves no residue and is not sticky. Once dry, you may brush the animal for further luster. There is no need to wet, rinse or bathe the animal. You don’t need to go in the bathroom. You can apply it in a comfortable place for your pet in order for him to have pleasure.

Why is it dangerous for the environment? 

The antiseptics ingredient, chlorhexidine digluconate is active against bacteria and yeasts but they can betoxic for the aquatic environment like all antiseptics ingredients.

I have an aquarium in my bathroom, is there any risk for my fishes?

No, the only risk is if there is product poured in the aquarium.

If I rinse my dog in the garden, is there any risk for my vegetables garden?

Care should be taken to not rinse pets near aquatic area and near vegetables/fruits that are intended to human/animal consumption. You should follow the same behaviour with human antiseptic shampoos or soaps.

Where should I throw away my empty bottle?

It depends of each country rules; please seek advice from your local regulatory.

Can I change my order?

Once your order has been paid for and confirmed it is not possible to change it.

How do I return a product?

You have a 30-day cooling-off period. 

To return a product, you must send us a request for withdrawal - please use the contact form and select 'Return a Product'.

  • If accepted you will receive a prepaid shipping label for the return of the product.
  • You must return the product in its original packaging and in good condition, together with the invoice. If this is not respected, we reserve the right to refuse the refund. 
  • We aim to refund you the invoiced price within approximately 8 days from the date of receipt of the returned product.
  • Please note that if you have subscribed to a recurring order, this will result in the cancellation of the subscription.
